Suspicious activity in apartment building entrance causes serious concern among residents

Residents of the Sebzor neighborhood in the Olmazor district of Tashkent have appealed to law enforcement agencies, expressing dissatisfaction with unpleasant incidents occurring in their apartment building entrance. They report that strangers have been regularly using the entrance to consume drugs.
Residents supported their complaints not just with words, but with video recordings. The provided footage shows used syringes in the entrance area. This situation has caused serious danger and anxiety for those living in the building, especially families with children.
Following the complaints, officers of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs launched an investigation. It was reported that the identities of a man and a woman who entered the building on April 29 were established. They admitted to entering the entrance to consume drugs, taking advantage of the easy access to the building.
A pre-investigation check is currently underway regarding this incident. A legal assessment of the offenders' actions will be provided upon the conclusion of the investigation. If signs of a violation of the law are confirmed in their actions, appropriate measures are expected to be taken.
This incident once again highlights the need to pay serious attention to security in apartment buildings. An entrance is not just a passageway; it is a common area used daily by children, the elderly, and families. The presence of suspicious individuals in such a place can pose a risk to all residents.
The Department of Internal Affairs urges citizens not to leave entrance doors open and to be attentive to intercom and locking systems. It is also recommended to immediately report any suspicious individuals, dangerous items, or unusual situations in the entrance or around the building to law enforcement agencies.
In such situations, it is crucial that residents are not indifferent. A safe environment is ensured not only by law enforcement agencies but also by the vigilance of citizens. Simply put, even if the entrance belongs to 'everyone,' its security must not become 'no one's' responsibility.
Most importantly, if such incidents are identified in time and reported to the relevant authorities, serious consequences can be prevented. If residents remain vigilant, the peace of the neighborhood will also be strengthened.
