Farewell to Claudio Ranieri at the Olimpico — a night of football emotion

Yesterday, Roma defeated Milan 3–1 at their home ground, the Olimpico. But this match will be remembered not only for its result but for the historic emotion behind it. It marked the last home game of the legendary coach Claudio Ranieri in Rome.

Roma’s supporters organized a grand farewell for their legend. 70,000 fans held up a choreography with the words “Claudio Ranieri Roma” and expressed: “Ranieri, you are eternal.” The coach walked out to the center of the stadium with his two grandchildren — a moment filled with raw emotion and warmth.

Short time, huge impact

Ranieri took charge of the team in November 2023, when Roma was struggling in 12th place in Serie A. Under his guidance, the club climbed to 5th place and kept the Champions League dream alive until the final matchday.

This turnaround is a remarkable achievement for one season. It symbolized Roma’s revival and once again showed the power of Ranieri’s “heart-driven” approach.

Among the choreography, fans displayed banners of former stars Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi hugging Ranieri — a tribute to the club’s strong spiritual legacy.
