The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has announced the updated rating results for August. It shows that Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov dropped from 7th place in July to 11th place. This was reported by Uz24.uz.
His rating points decreased from 2771 to 2748. This means he has slightly lost his position among the world elite. However, this is not the end: Abdusattorov still has the opportunity to return to the top ten.
Other Uzbek chess players also experienced changes in the rating. Javohir Sindorov moved up one place to 24th. Nodirbek Yoqubboyev rose 14 places to 45th, surpassing Rustam Qosimjonov. Unfortunately, Shamsiddin Vohidov dropped 7 places to 83rd.
In team results, Uzbekistan took 13th place with 2601 points. This is a good indicator, but there is room for further improvement.
In the world ranking, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen still leads with 2839 points. The second and third places are held by US representatives Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana.
Abdusattorov's setback may only be a temporary pause. A good athlete shows himself exactly at such moments, what do you think?
