Saccini Criticizes Italy's Defeat

Former AC Milan head coach Arrigo Sacchi criticized the Italian national team following their defeat against Norway. In the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match, Gennaro Gattuso's side suffered a 4–1 loss to the Norwegians.

«I noticed both team and individual mistakes; such errors are unacceptable at this level. The Italians appeared somewhat intimidated, suffered a psychological downturn, and were overly fearful of defeat.

With this level of performance, we cannot go far,» Sacchi emphasized in an interview with *Gazetta dello Sport*. Despite the loss to Norway, the Italian national team still has a chance to qualify for the upcoming World Cup.
