Yamal Surpasses Messi but Falls Short of Breaking Neymar's Record

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal is having a remarkable 2025. According to Sofascore calculations, the "blaugrana" star has completed 307 successful dribbles since January.

This is the second-highest number of successful dribble attempts in a single calendar year since such data began being collected. The record is still held by Neymar, who completed 335 successful dribbles in 2017.

In third place is Lionel Messi, who registered 260 successful dribbles in 2017. Notably, all three players achieved their best performances while playing for Barcelona, although the Brazilian left the Catalan club for PSG that same summer.

In July, Lamine Yamal turned 18. Last season, the player was instrumental in helping Hans-Dieter Flick's team secure all domestic trophies in Spain.
