In the 5th round of the MLS Eastern Conference, another intense and dramatic match took place, which did not leave football fans indifferent. Inter Miami played away against New York City and secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
The game started very actively. Miami opened the scoring in the 3rd minute thanks to Lujan's accurate shot. The early goal instilled confidence in the visitors, but the home team quickly regained their composure.
In the 17th minute, Merkau equalized, returning the game to intrigue. In the second half, New York City were even more active, putting Oyeda's team ahead in the 59th minute. At that moment, many thought the home team would save the victory.
But once again, the football legend appeared on stage. In the 61st minute, Lionel Messi scored a perfect goal from a free kick, equalizing the score again. This was his 901st career goal and was recorded as another historic milestone.
Messi's goal not only changed the score but also gave his team new strength and spirit. Mikael's goal in the 74th minute decided the match - 3:2.
In the remaining minutes, Inter Miami maintained their cool-headed lead, securing crucial 3 points. This result allows the team to continue to compete for higher positions in the tournament table.
