Zinedine Zidane is approaching the head of the French national team...

Former France international Zinedine Zidane has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the French Football Federation to become the next head coach of the national team. The report was published by Le Parisien, which said the two sides are already aligned on Zidane taking charge.
French Football Federation president Philippe Diallo said he already knows who will lead the team next, but he did not reveal the name. He added that five candidates were considered for the position and that all of them were French, further fueling expectations that Zidane is the federation’s preferred choice.
Zidane is one of the most decorated French coaches of his generation. During his time at "Real Madrid", he won the Spanish league title twice, lifted the Spanish Super Cup two times, and guided the club to three UEFA Champions League triumphs.
France is set to compete at the 2026 World Cup in a group featuring Senegal, Norway, and one more team that will be confirmed later. If the reported agreement is finalized, Zidane could take over one of the strongest squads in international football ahead of the tournament.
