Juventus Preparing for Major Changes to Its Goalkeeping Department

Italian club Juventus intends to radically overhaul its goalkeeping department ahead of the new season. Significant changes are expected not only among the first-choice goalkeepers but also on the list of substitutes. This will play an important role in the Turin club’s squad-building strategy for next season. Goal.com reports .

According to information published by Goal.com, Juventus is planning several changes to its goalkeeping position. While Vicario, who is expected to arrive from Tottenham, is being tipped to become the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, one of the current goalkeepers is reportedly set to leave. The management had previously considered candidates such as Alisson and Emiliano Martínez.

Mattia Perin’s Future and New Backup Options

Mattia Perin, who wants regular first-team playing time, could continue his career at another club. The experienced goalkeeper has been looking for opportunities to secure a starting role in recent years and is therefore seriously considering Palermo, a Serie B club. The player’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, is negotiating the transfer.

If Perin and Juventus part ways, the Turin club will have to find a suitable second-choice goalkeeper for Vicario. Pinsoglio’s position as the third-choice goalkeeper has meanwhile been confirmed. However, several candidates are being carefully assessed for the backup role.

Other Candidates on the Club’s Radar

According to Sky Sport, Juventus is considering several interesting options on the transfer market. The main players on the shortlist are:

  • Emil Audero — a Juventus academy graduate who could return to the Turin club after his loan spell at Como;
  • Juan Musso — the former Atalanta goalkeeper, who is expected to leave Atlético Madrid and has also attracted interest from Napoli;
  • Santiago Beltrán — a promising Argentine goalkeeper born in 2004 who currently plays for River Plate.
Mandas from Lazio had also been mentioned previously, but the Roman club has no intention of selling him. All these changes are aimed at ensuring Juventus remain competitive next season and signal that the transfer window is entering an intense phase.
