Anthropic introduces new AI tools for legal services

Anthropic has launched new chatbot features designed to provide automated assistance for law firms. These updates expand the Claude for Legal platform introduced earlier this year, including specialized plugins and MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors for various areas of law. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
The legal technology market is evolving rapidly. In particular, startups like Harvey and Legora have attracted significant investment and are actively working on automating legal processes. Through its new tools, Anthropic aims to simplify complex tasks such as document search, analysis, trial preparation, and contract drafting.
The new MCP connectors allow the Claude model to integrate with software that law firms use daily, such as DocuSign and Box. It is also possible to connect legal research platforms like Thomson Reuters to the system. Company representatives note that the legal sector has become one of the fastest-growing areas for AI adoption.
At the same time, the use of AI in the legal field poses certain risks. Over the past period, there have been unfortunate incidents involving lawyers and even judges who prepared documents filled with incorrect or fake citations using ChatGPT. Experts are concerned that poor-quality AI-generated legal documents are placing an excessive burden on the judicial system.
