NASA invites Taiwan to participate in the Artemis lunar program

NASA has officially invited Taiwan for the first time to propose technological solutions for its Artemis lunar program. Taipei officials believe this invitation will allow the country to enter the "lunar economy" and enable local companies to access the global space market directly. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

The invitation was sent in the form of a Request for Information (RFI), aimed at identifying available technologies to solve 32 technical tasks within the Artemis program. Although this is not a tender or a contract, it allows Taiwanese companies to showcase their capabilities directly to NASA experts.

Wu Chung-hsin, head of the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA), noted that local manufacturers previously worked only as secondary contractors. Now, through its expertise in semiconductors and high-precision mechanics, Taiwan can play a key role in creating automation and intelligent control systems for lunar bases.

The Artemis program aims to return humans to the Moon by 2028 and establish a permanent base there by 2030. The Taiwanese government views participation in this project as a new driver for developing its space industry and is forming a "national team" consisting of universities and private companies.
