Gmail can now communicate using artificial intelligence

At its Google I/O 2026 conference, Google introduced the new "AI Inbox" feature for Gmail. Users can now chat directly with their emails instead of entering keywords into a search bar. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
Powered by Gemini artificial intelligence, the Gmail Live service helps find information in emails quickly. For example, a user can find specific details like upcoming flight times, doctor appointments, or hotel room numbers by simply asking a question.
Gmail product lead Devanshi Bhandari noted that Gmail Live understands natural language queries, can answer follow-up questions, and maintain context even when topics change. Like chatbots such as ChatGPT, this technology provides the user with necessary information without complex search processes.
With this innovation, Google aims to demonstrate the practical benefits of artificial intelligence in daily life. The same voice technology is also planned to be integrated into the Google Keep app.
