New AI agents launched in Google Search

At the Google I/O 2026 conference, the company introduced new agent capabilities for its search engine. Users can now create, customize, and manage multiple AI agents to stay updated on topics of interest. This innovation marks Google's next step toward systems that do not just answer questions, but act independently and perform long-term tasks. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
Unlike traditional search tools, Google's new agents monitor data such as stock market changes, airline ticket prices, sports team results, or weather 24/7. Instead of just providing a list of links, they synthesize and analyze information from various sources, delivering clear conclusions to the user.
To use this feature, simply enable AI Mode in the search engine and enter your query. For example, when you command it to track ticket prices for a specific movie, the system sends a push notification as soon as relevant news appears. All active trackers are saved in the AI Mode history and can be edited or deleted at any time.
The new feature will be available this summer, initially for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US, before expanding to other markets. Additionally, Google has implemented the biggest update to its search engine in over 25 years, transitioning the interface into a more conversational 'smart search window'.
