Zakat, fitr and fidya have been announced for 2026

The Fatwa Center of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has made an official decision regarding the nisab of zakat, fitr charity, and fidya amounts for the month of Ramadan in 2026 CE/1447 Hijri.

According to the decree, the nisab of zakat for the current month of Ramadan has been set at 100 million soums, which is approximately equal to the value of 85 grams of gold of the 585th grade. A person who owns this amount of money, commercial goods, or gold is obligated to give 2.5 percent of their total wealth as zakat to those in need.

Additionally, fitr charity has been set in the following amounts:

  • approximately 2 kg of wheat or value - 10,000 soums;
  • approximately 2 kg of wheat flour or value - 12,000 soums;
  • approximately 4 kg of barley or value - 20,000 soums;
  • approximately 2 kg of raisins or a value of 110,000 soums;
  • approximately 4 kg of dates or value - 200,000 soums.

Citizens can give any of these five products or their monetary value to those in need with the intention of giving fitr charity. Fitr charity should be given during the month of Ramadan, before the Eid prayer.

It is reported that the amount of one day's fidya will also equal the amount of fitr charity. That is, anyone can give one of the above five products or its value as fidya based on their capabilities.
