In 2025, 48 men became fathers after turning 70. This was officially reported by the National Statistics Committee.
According to the data, in 2025, 879,599 births were registered in Uzbekistan. Births were distributed by fathers’ age groups as follows:
Up to 25 years — 97,917 people;
25–39 years — 718,798 people;
40–59 years — 62,246 people;
60 years and older — 638 people, of which over 70 years — 48 people.
It is worth noting that previously, more than 12,000 women in Uzbekistan became mothers after 40 years. Also, in 2025, the number of births and marriages decreased. According to statistics, 884,500 children were born in 2025 — 5.3% less compared to 2024 (926,400). This decline was observed in almost all regions.
Additionally, the number of marriages also decreased. In 2025, 267,100 marriages were registered — the lowest in the last 15 years, 1.7% less compared to 2024 (271,800 marriages).
