Uzhydromet issues mudflow warning for mountainous regions of Uzbekistan

The center of hydrometeorological service, Uzhydromet, has issued a severe weather warning for multiple regions across Uzbekistan. Due to heavy rainfall expected on March 31 and from April 2 to April 6, there is a significant risk of mudflows and flash floods in foothill and mountainous areas. Reports Podrobno.uz.
Uzhydromet Director Sherzodkhuja Khabibullakhuja announced that the potential natural disasters threaten numerous districts. The high-risk zones include parts of the Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions. In these areas, the rapid accumulation of rainwater could lead to severe local flooding and infrastructure damage.
Authorities strongly advise residents living in these vulnerable zones to remain vigilant. Vacationers and drivers planning to travel through mountainous territories are urged to take necessary safety precautions and closely monitor official weather forecasts to avoid dangerous situations during the heavy rain periods.
