In Uzbekistan, the “Clean Air” project is aimed at keeping the atmosphere clean

In Uzbekistan, the national project “Clean Air” for 2026–2030 has been officially launched by the Presidential decree signed on March 25.

The document states that the main goal of the project is to reduce emissions in industry, energy, construction, and transport sectors, as well as to control the formation of natural dust.

Within the framework of the program, it is planned to reduce the volume of pollutants released into the atmosphere by 10.5%. The project also provides for the installation of automatic monitoring stations and dust-gas purification systems at large industrial enterprises.

In addition, it is planned to increase the level of waste capture at industrial facilities to 32%, reduce the number of days exceeding the PM2.5 standard, and reduce by 10% the volume of harmful substances emitted into the atmosphere by vehicles.

The project will be implemented gradually by region: first, measures will be introduced in the Fergana Valley, then applied to the central regions. In the next stages, the southern and western regions of the country will be covered, and at the final stage, the project will be fully implemented in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm.

It is recalled that it was previously reported that on the 10th and 25th of each month, government employees are required to travel to work not by official vehicles, but by public transport, bicycle, or on foot.

Through this project, air quality will improve, the ecological situation will be monitored, and a healthier environment for the population will be created.
