The Russian military attacked Sudja through the gas pipeline
On March 9, Russian troops launched a new offensive against the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region. In this attack, Russian troops crossed the Ukrainian border by moving along the Urengoy-Pomari-Uzhgorod gas pipeline. The pipeline is one of the important routes that Russia will use to supply gas to Europe through Ukraine until January 1, 2025.

Using the gas pipeline in a dangerous way, the Russian troops led a detachment of about 100 people into active action, which led to the passage of 16 kilometers through an underground pipeline with a diameter of 1.4 meters in one week. The soldiers first crawled inside the pipe and then waited to get out.

The operation also involved the private military company "Veterans", the special forces unit "Akhmat" and the 30th motorized rifle regiment of the Russian Armed Forces. It is said that the operation was not carried out with the best preparation, even the soldiers who were lying down did not have enough water and food, and there were ventilation problems. As a result, several fighters were poisoned by methane gas and died. The results of this attack were widely disseminated through videos.

The Ukrainian armed forces, however, called the attack a planned situation. According to the General Staff of Ukraine, the airborne reconnaissance units of the airborne assault forces detected the movements of the Russian soldiers in time and responded to them with rocket and artillery strikes. Russian units were hit hard at the intersection of the pipeline with the railway, two kilometers northeast of the city of Sudzha.

At the same time, Russian government and influential sources report that attacks on Sudzha have continued from several directions, and active actions have been observed in Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, Kositsa, Martynovka and Malaya Loknya. The Russian army also managed to capture the village of Lebedevka, 10 kilometers from Sudzha.

Official comments on the results of these attacks and their development have not yet been released. However, the Ukrainian armed forces have published information about Russian losses in this attack, emphasizing that they are very high.

This Russian attack through the underground pipeline and the military actions in Sudzha are still under investigation and analysis, and may have wider consequences.
