U.S. President Donald Trump has harshly condemned the latest attempt by Democratic Party members to launch another impeachment initiative, calling it political pressure and a direct attack. The president accused the Democrats of abusing the impeachment process and urged Republicans to consider launching similar proceedings against Democrats for their real crimes. Trump shared this on his personal page on the social platform X.
“Democrats have completely lost control. Radical left-wing representatives are once again talking about impeachment. Two congressmen, whom no one knows or respects, have introduced another impeachment against Donald Trump. They’ve brought this up about twenty times already and don’t even know why,” wrote Trump.
He sarcastically stated that, by the Democrats’ logic, he’s being blamed for protecting national borders, fighting inflation, and enforcing tough policies on Ukraine and Iran. According to Trump, his firm approach prevented Iran’s funding, and had that not been done, the October 7 attacks on Israel might not have occurred.
Trump claimed that Democrats are using impeachment as a weapon against all core American values.
He then addressed his fellow Republicans:
“Maybe it’s time for us to play by their rules — start impeaching them for their actual crimes and remove them from Congress?”
For context, Trump faced impeachment twice before — in 2019 and 2021, but both times the charges were rejected by the Senate, and he remained in office.
U.S. media report that the new impeachment push is based on foreign policy concerns and alleged pressure on Congress.
On April 29, Democratic Congressman Shri Thanedar submitted an impeachment resolution accusing Trump of obstruction of justice, international aggression, illegal establishment of agencies, corruption, and abuse of power.
Currently, this topic has become one of the main political debates in the U.S., and the outcome of the new impeachment effort is being closely followed by analysts. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
