White House Makes No Decision on Iran: Military Strike Was Expected
The new week in Washington began with high-level discussions. A closed meeting held at the White House addressed the issue of a possible military operation against Iran. However, according to sources, no radical decision was made — the United States decided not to strike Iran.

According to The Wall Street Journal, a potential operation against Tehran was one of several scenarios discussed during the meeting. Nevertheless, U.S. leadership has so far refrained from making a final decision.

Analysts note that the very fact such a discussion took place has heightened regional tensions. It became clear that the U.S. is seriously considering resolving the Iran issue through military means.

Earlier, ABC News reported that Washington might decide within the next 24 to 48 hours whether or not to provide military support to Israel. Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Israeli officials also believe that U.S. involvement in the operation is highly likely.

Iranian authorities, for their part, continue to stress that any military threats will be met with a harsh response. Analysts interpret the U.S.'s decision to refrain from a strike as an attempt to keep the situation under control.

The international community is calling on both sides to maintain balance and pursue diplomatic solutions to ensure the political dispute does not escalate into full-scale war.
