Lukashenko: Putin refused to strike Zelensky’s office with “Oreshnik”

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko revealed insider information that was discussed within the Russian leadership and could have caused major resonance. According to him, some people in Russia proposed the idea of striking Bankova Street in central Kyiv, where the office of the President of Ukraine is located, with the “Oreshnik” missile.

However, Lukashenko emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin firmly rejected this proposal.

“Insider information. Some people in Russia had such an idea. I will not say who. Putin replied to this proposal: ‘absolutely not’. They were ready to strike. If an ‘Oreshnik’ strike had been carried out, then, as they put it, nothing would have remained of the decision-making centers,” Lukashenko said in his statement.

It should be reminded that earlier Lukashenko stated that Belarus plans to deploy “Oreshnik” missile systems by the end of 2025.

For reference: “Oreshnik” is a medium-range ballistic missile. Its maximum flight range is 5,500 km. The missile moves at a speed of 10 Mach, equal to 12.4 thousand kilometers per hour, and can carry a nuclear warhead of up to 900 kilograms.

This information will undoubtedly lead to serious discussions in the international arena. Because the use of such missiles with nuclear capacity, or even considerations about them, are regarded as a significant threat to peace.

Therefore, Putin’s rejection of this proposal is seen as an extremely important political decision. Fans and observers are waiting with interest for what new statements will be made on this topic.
