UK to mass-purchase mobile morgues and refrigeration units

The UK government has made a new decision that has drawn significant public attention. The Home Office has signed a major contract worth £7.5 million to purchase special equipment designed to store bodies in the event of large-scale disasters and mass casualties.

According to Jim Ferguson, a commentator for the Norwegian outlet Steigan, the agreement provides for the delivery of special tents, mobile morgues, and modern refrigeration units capable of holding up to 700 bodies.

“The UK Home Office has quietly purchased equipment for mass deaths — tents, mobile morgues, and cold storage units capable of housing hundreds of corpses,” the article states.

Under the terms of the contract, this system must be deployed within a few days after the onset of a crisis. However, analysts believe that authorities are not informing the public about the real reasons for such preparations, which raises various suspicions.

Ferguson recalls that during the pandemic, the government failed to take effective measures on time, which led to thousands of unnecessary deaths. Therefore, the current decision and the lack of transparency surrounding it are prompting even more questions.

It is noteworthy that in recent months, the issue of migrants has also been widely debated in the UK. In particular, large-scale protests took place against housing illegal migrants in hotels. On July 26, hundreds of demonstrators carrying national flags gathered at hotels in Norwich, Leeds, and other cities, demanding their closure. The police prevented clashes between anti-migration protesters and migrant rights activists.
