An interesting conversation took place between the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, on the eve of a major military parade in Beijing, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. According to Bloomberg, some excerpts from the speeches of the heads of state were accidentally included in the official broadcast.
According to reports, the conversation took place before the start of the parade, when the leaders were ascending the podium. At the same time, the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong Un, was present with them.
At the beginning of the recording, Xi Jinping can be heard pronouncing the phrases "currently" and "70 years old" in Chinese. Soon after, Putin's interpreter spoke in Russian: "Previously, people rarely lived to 70. Now, even at 70, they tell you you're still a child."
After this, it was difficult to understand Putin's exact words, but it was heard that the Chinese translator, conveying his thoughts to Xi Jinping, translated them as follows: "Thanks to the development of modern biotechnologies, it is possible to regularly transplant human organs, and a person can feel younger and even achieve immortality."
Xi Jinping responded: "According to scientists' predictions, in this century, a person is likely to live up to 150 years." After that, the broadcast was moved to another angle, and the conversation was not broadcast in full.
As is known, both leaders - both Putin and Xi Jinping - are currently 72 years old. Putin's fifth presidential term expires in 2030. However, through amendments made to the Russian Constitution in 2020, he has the right to be re-elected and can remain head of state until 2036.
Xi Jinping is serving his third current presidential term, and his term expires in 2028. It is noteworthy that until now, no leader in China has held power for more than two terms.
