Starting October 1, a new special "K" category visa will be introduced for young foreign personnel working in the field of science and technology in China. It was noted that this decision was made by the State Council of China in August.
The main goal of the new system is to strengthen international relations, expand scientific and research cooperation, and create great opportunities for the younger generation. Visa holders will be granted more privileges compared to the previously existing 12 types of visas. Among them are such advantages as an unlimited increase in the number of entry into the country, extension of the validity period, and the right to stay for a longer period.
"K" visa holders can participate in educational programs, cultural events, and scientific and technical exchange projects. They will also have the opportunity to implement entrepreneurial, business, or startup projects in China.
One of the most important innovations is that no invitation from a Chinese employer or organization is required during the application process. This will significantly simplify the document submission process for young specialists and eliminate unnecessary obstacles.
According to migration experts, the introduction of a new visa category will further enhance China's international standing. At the same time, the country can become a center for attracting talented personnel from around the world in high-tech areas.
Notably, this decision is being implemented following changes to the H-1B visa program for foreign specialists in the US. According to Donald Trump's decree, companies are now required to pay an annual fee of $100,000 for each candidate.
