China demonstrated the first device for casting bricks from lunar soil

Chinese scientists have developed a prototype of the world's first device capable of producing building bricks from lunar soil. Xinhua reported that the new machine was presented at the World Manufacturing Industry Conference in Hefei.

According to the data, the device operates on solar energy and focuses rays 3000 times more strongly. As a result of this process, regolith is melted and transformed into strong bricks.

According to experts, the production of building materials directly on the Moon is a key step in the construction of the station and infrastructure. The project provides for the construction of the base complex until 2035, and its expansion in the 2040s.
