China has set another global architectural record. The country is building the world's tallest bridge, and preparations are underway for its official opening. This was reported by the CGTN television channel.
This monumental structure is located in the Guizhou Valley in southwestern China, on the Luizhi-Anlong road. He already holds the record as he climbed over the Huatszyan Grand Canyon to a height of 625 meters above the gorge.
The total length of the bridge is 2.9 kilometers, with the main axis section being 1.4 kilometers. Its load-bearing structures are made of steel and consist of 93 segments weighing approximately 22 thousand tons. This figure is equal to the weight of two Eiffel towers.
Construction began at the beginning of 2022. The project is recognized not only as the main transport artery of the region, but also as a unique scenic destination for tourists.
Officials emphasized that the commissioning of the new bridge will create great convenience for drivers. The journey, which previously took two hours, is now reduced to two minutes. The official opening of the bridge is scheduled for Sunday, September 28.
