The pension issue for migrants in Russia has been raised again

Leonid Slutskiy, the leader of Russia’s LDPR, proposed canceling the procedure for pension payments for labor migrants. According to him, every kopeck of the state is accounted for, and social and demographic programs require huge amounts of funds.

Slutskiy emphasized that last year the net growth in migration reached 600 thousand people— the highest figure in the last 30 years. “A pension is not about being officially registered, but the result of participating in the life of the state,” said the politician.
