12 cities will be built in Britain to solve the housing problem

The UK government plans to implement a large-scale construction program to address the housing shortage in the country. According to official data, 12 new towns will be built, in each of which it is planned to build more than 300 thousand residential buildings.

As noted by the leader of the Labour Party and current Prime Minister Key Starmer, this initiative is of great importance for the population, especially young Britons under the age of 40, who have not yet had the opportunity to buy a house.

According to the Daily Mail, the first three cities are expected to be built in Bedfordshire, Leeds, and North London. Work on the implementation of the project is planned to begin before the next elections.

It should be recalled that the Labour Party promised in its election program that 1.5 million new houses would be built during the current parliamentary term. In this sense, the construction of new cities can be one of the largest steps in the country's housing policy.
