A major tragedy occurred at the Al-Hozini boarding school in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. Local media reported that the educational institution's building collapsed instantly, endangering the lives of many children.
According to official data, one 13-year-old student died as a result of the accident. More than 90 people were injured to varying degrees, some of whom are in serious condition. According to assists, about 38 people may have been trapped under the rubble.
Investigations show that the school initially consisted of two floors. However, later, in violation of the requirements of the law, additional floors were built. The foundation could not withstand such an excess weight, and as a result, the building suddenly collapsed.

At the same time, after the incident, discussions about the strength of school buildings and the need to strengthen construction control intensified in the country.
