On September 30, a powerful explosion occurred in front of the Border Troops Directorate in Quetta, the capital of the country's Balochistan region. According to official data, at least ten people died as a result of the accident, and another 32 people were injured to varying degrees. It is noted that among the victims are both military personnel and civilians.
Following the explosion, a group of armed individuals attempted to attack a military post, resulting in a clash with security forces that led to shelling.
So far, no organization has claimed responsibility for the incident. However, various hypotheses are being put forward that it may be connected with separatist movements and insurgent groups operating in the region for many years. The security issue in Baluch has always been complex, as strategic projects such as the China-Pakistan economic corridor are being implemented there.
The President and Prime Minister of Pakistan strongly condemned the incident. They expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized that the perpetrators will be identified and strict measures will be taken against them. At the same time, the injured are being hospitalized and provided with the necessary medical assistance.
Experts believe that the explosion in Quetta poses a serious threat not only to the residents of the region but also to the security and stability of the entire region. The continuation of terrorist acts may also negatively affect the large economic programs being implemented in Baluchistan.
