NASA plans to build a human village on the Moon by 2035

The US Space Research Agency - NASA intends to implement a new historical milestone for humanity in the coming decades. The agency plans to build a village on the lunar surface by 2035, where people can live continuously. Acting head of the agency, Sean Duffy, announced this at the International Astronautical Congress in Sydney, Australia.

Duffy emphasized that this project is not limited to a scientific mission. Not only a research center, but also a modern infrastructure for sustainable living will be created on the Moon. It is planned to provide the new village with nuclear energy, regular accommodation of astronauts, and most importantly, the widespread use of local materials obtained from the lunar surface in construction.

According to NASA's plan, in February 2026, four astronauts will go to the Moon for the first time in 50 years as part of the "Artemis II" program. Although landing is not performed on this flight, the main task is to provide preparation for the next steps and explore the possibilities of long-term survival on the Moon.

According to experts, the construction of a permanent village on the Moon will serve as an important foundation for stepping onto Mars. Because the infrastructure created on the Moon will allow testing humanity's ability to survive in space for a long time.

NASA representatives view this idea not as a dream, but as a concrete plan to be realized. Because this initiative is aimed at developing human civilization beyond Earth's orbit.
