Yesterday, October 5th, the city of Sydney (Australia) experienced a night full of noise, anxiety, and fear. A man shot at people on the street from the window of his house. This was reported by The Guardian. As a result of the incident, 16 people received bodily injuries of varying degrees.
According to reports, the shooting began in the evening, when people were resting. According to eyewitnesses, the man was hanged at least fifty times, and some sources say that this number can reach up to a hundred. After hearing the shooting, the area was closed by police. It was reported that he used his weapon to shoot at drivers, buildings, and even police cars.
During the police call, the situation was also tense - the suspect refused to surrender, and law enforcement agencies acted under the "rain of the field" to disarm him.
As a result of the emissions, several neighboring buildings, especially cafes and shops at the corner of the street, were damaged. According to the cafe owner, at first she had heard two meetings, but not understanding what was happening, they continued to treat the guests. After a few seconds, the continuous arrow fire began, and the smell of ammunition spread throughout the air. The police gave instructions to the public: "Don't leave your seats, stop inside."
Six people were hospitalized after the incident, one of them is in serious condition. Two men were injured due to glass shards leaking from the glass, and they were assisted on the spot. In total, medical assistance was provided to 16 citizens with minor injuries.
According to New South Wales police, the suspect has been detained and his weapons confiscated. He also received bodily injuries during the detention and is currently in the hospital. Police are continuing investigative actions at the scene, the streets are closed, and traffic is temporarily restricted.
