The epicenter of the earthquake was located 434 kilometers southeast of Tashkent. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.2 and a depth of 30 kilometers. The epicenter is located on the territory of Afghanistan - 37.4 degrees north latitude and 69.93 degrees east longitude.

According to seismologists, the intensity at the epicenter of the earthquake was 5 points. The impact of the natural conditions was also felt in the southern regions of Uzbekistan.

In particular, in the following districts, the magnitude of the tremors was 2 points:

Shurchi - 192 km,

Long - 199 km,

Denau - 204 km,

Kumkurgan - 211 km,

Sariosiyo - 211 km,

Oltinsoy - 212 km.

Experts say that fluctuations of this magnitude do not pose a danger to the population, but indicate an increase in the activity of the earth's crust.

It should be recalled that earlier a 7-point earthquake occurred in the territory of Kyrgyzstan, and its tremors were felt in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Seismologists are currently studying the consequences of the earthquake in Afghanistan. According to them, some local buildings in the area may have suffered minor damage.
