The government of Saudi Arabia announced important news regarding Umrah pilgrimage - now holders of all types of visas issued for entry into the country can perform Umrah worship in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The Saudi news agency reports this based on information from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
According to the new decree, citizens entering with tourist, service, labor, family, personal, and even transit (stopover) visas will be eligible to perform Umrah rituals. Now they will have the opportunity to make a pilgrimage upon entering Saudi Arabia.
These reforms are a continuation of the system of conveniences created by the Saudi government for pilgrims in recent years. The country has launched a modern digital platform called "Nusuk Umrah," through which pilgrims can order hotel, transport, and pilgrimage services online.
Government representatives emphasized that this initiative is aimed not only at facilitating religious pilgrimages but also at increasing the number of tourists visiting the country. This is one of the directions for the development of tourism and religious spheres, defined in the Saudi Vision 2030 program.
Also, according to the new procedure, every pilgrim wishing to perform Umrah rituals will be required to register in advance through the "Nusuk" platform or an official tour operator.
