A 22-year-old Uzbekistani man died as a result of an accident during construction work in the Russian city of Arkhangelsk. This was reported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg.
According to reports, the tragedy occurred on October 1 of this year. A resident of the Surkhandarya region, N.S., born in 2003, fell from a height - from the 5th floor of the building - during construction work in the "Koritsa" residential complex. As a result of severe injuries, he died at the scene.
"The Consulate General sent an official note to the representative office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Arkhangelsk region," the diplomatic mission reported. The relevant authorities are currently taking legal measures in connection with the incident.
According to the investigation, the Investigative Department of the Solombal District of the city of Arkhangelsk initiated a criminal case on the basis of part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - violation of safety rules during construction and other work processes. The investigation is actively continuing.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg reported that the situation is under its control, and the relatives of the deceased are receiving the necessary consular assistance.
It should be recalled that a similar tragedy was previously reported - a 23-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan died as a result of an accident at the construction site of the Supreme Court and the Judicial Department of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg.
Such cases related to labor migrants once again demonstrate the need for strict adherence to safety regulations abroad. The importance of protecting the life and health of workers by employers and responsible organizations in external labor activity was once again emphasized.
