The football stadium, located in the city of Makapa in northern Brazil, is indeed one of the most unusual sports facilities in the world. It attracts everyone's attention not only with its architecture but also with its location.
The most interesting aspect of this stadium is that its central line runs along the Earth's equator. Therefore, during the game, each team plays in different hemispheres - that is, in the northern and southern hemispheres.
Commissioned in 1990, the facility is called "Estadio Milton Correa," but locals and football fans call it "Zerão," meaning "Big Zero." This word is associated with the equatorial line - the geographical "zero" of the Earth.
The architects specially designed the stadium so that the central line of the field intersects the equator. It is considered the only such stadium in the world. Therefore, it has become the center of attention not only of sports fans, but also of tourists.
