The newly adopted decision in Turkey caused various interpretations in the public. It has become clear that the decree signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan applies not to all citizens of Turkic states, as previously reported, but only to foreign citizens of Turkish origin.
According to official data, the document partially updates the resolution "On the free professional activity of foreign citizens of Turkish origin and their employment in public and private institutions of Turkey." Now, only individuals with proven Turkish nationality will be able to work in Turkey without special permission.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey, this decision does not apply to citizens of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. For them, employment in Turkey is carried out on the basis of current legislation - through a work visa and a permit.
Experts emphasize that this decision was made to protect Turkey's domestic labor market and prioritize local personnel. At the same time, it is possible that new agreements will be developed in the future that will facilitate labor relations with the Turkic states.
