Russian President Vladimir Putin held scheduled exercises for the strategic nuclear forces via videoconference, the Kremlin press service reported. These exercises were conducted to test the readiness of the country's defense system and demonstrate intercontinental military potential.
During the exercises, the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome to the Kura training ground in Kamchatka. At the same time, a "Sineva" ballistic missile launched from the nuclear submarine "Bryansk," located in the waters of the Barents Sea.
Also, Tu-95MS long-range strategic bombers participated in the exercises, launching cruise missiles in the air. Through these practical exercises, the level of training of Russian military command bodies and practical skills in commanding operational troops were tested.
The Kremlin statement emphasized that all tasks outlined in the exercise were fully completed, and the troops successfully carried out their assigned tasks. The goal was to test the ability of strategic forces to act reliably under any conditions.
Training sessions of this type are held annually in Russia. Previously, similar strategic tests were conducted in 2023 and 2024. Through these operations, the Kremlin aims to demonstrate the constant readiness of nuclear forces and maintain military-strategic stability.
Analysts note that such exercises are perceived not only as a test of Russia's defense capabilities but also as a geopolitical signal in the international arena.
