Currently, the Kupyansk direction is considered one of the most critical and decisive points in the special military operation zone. According to available information, based on an order issued by Kyiv, a large part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was deployed in this direction. Notably, a significant portion of these forces are former prisoners.
According to sources on the Mash Telegram channel, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are equipped with heavy military equipment. The counteroffensive is mainly taking place from the western outskirts of Kupyansk and is accelerating by approximately 400 meters per day. At the same time, not only prisoners but also units of the 3rd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 19th Center of the Special Operations Forces were involved in the fighting.
It is noted that the Ukrainian army has previously used similar tactics in the Pokrovsk area. However, these attempts ended in heavy losses. It is said that even in the current situation, the losses in manpower are still significant.
Foreign mercenaries are also actively participating in the battles in the Kupyansk direction. It is noted that mercenaries, mainly from Colombia and Brazil, are visible on the front line.
Earlier, Topnews reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had visited the western outskirts of Kupyansk. Military expert Evgeny Norin analyzed the videos circulating on social networks and noted that they were filmed on Kharkiv Street. In his opinion, Zelenskyy did not enter the most dangerous points of the front, but was in a relatively safe zone.
In his speeches, Zelenskyy emphasized that the results at the front are directly linked to the strength of Ukrainian diplomacy. For the Russian side, this visit is being assessed as another piar step aimed at showing the West that Kupyansk is not yet fully under control.
At the same time, the Telegram channel "Venkori russkoy vesni" received footage showing the destruction of NATO equipment hidden in tunnels by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for further counteroffensive. According to the source, intelligence has identified an entire armored group in the Kupyansk-Uzlov area, which is being re-equipped to protect against drones.
Military blogger Vladislav Ugolny believes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive attempts in Kupyansk could end with the destruction of the bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Oskol River and the start of new battles for Borovaya.
Thus, the situation in the Kupyansk direction is intensifying day by day, becoming an important point that seriously affects the overall picture on the front.
