Three more Central Asian countries added to the US visa mandatory deposit list

The US presidential administration has expanded the list of countries whose citizens must pay a cash deposit when applying for an entry visa. Under the new procedure, the deposit requirement applies to citizens of the following countries: Algeria, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Benin, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Djibouti, Dominica, Fiji, Gabon, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Nigeria, Senegal, Tajikistan, Togo, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.
Visa applicants will be charged a deposit ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. The exact amount will be determined after the visa interview. The State Department emphasized that paying the deposit does not guarantee a visa will be issued.
The paid funds will be refunded if the visa is denied. A refund is also предусмотрен after entering the United States if all visa-regime requirements have been met.
Following the latest changes, the number of countries on this list has reached 38. Turkmenistan had previously been included as well.
