Reports have emerged that the US Navy's Abraham Lincoln air strike group has arrived in the Middle East. According to information cited by Israel's Channel 13, the aircraft carrier and its accompanying vessels will participate in training exercises within the framework of possible scenarios around Iran.
At the same time, it is expected that additional systems, including complexes such as THAAD (THAAD), may be delivered to the territory in the coming days to strengthen air defense capabilities. It was also noted that US officials are discussing the issue of increasing air defense capabilities.
Interesting fact for fans: "Abraham Lincoln" - a German-class nuclear aircraft carrier, hired in 1989. Its total length is approximately 332.8 meters, its propulsion is provided by two nuclear reactors, and its power is estimated at around 260,000 horsepower; its speed exceeds 30 knots. Along with the crew and air wing, there are about 5,000+ personnel, with the capacity to carry up to 90 aircraft and helicopters.
At the same time, one thing needs to be said openly: there are reports on social networks that the ship's "water capacity is 880 thousand tons," but in open sources, the location of the "Abraham Lincoln" is given as approximately 104 thousand long tons (that is, about 100 thousand tons). So, in some posts, the numbers might have been significantly enlarged for "hype."
In short, another substantial military resource has entered the region - which, instead of lowering the diplomatic "temperature," on the contrary, makes the calculations of the parties more cautious. Now the main question: whether this demonstration of power is pressure for negotiations or a start signal for the development of events - the coming days will tell.
