The US Central Command reported this and released a video showing the launch of the missile using the HIMARS missile system.
The PrSM was designed by Lockheed Martin to replace the outdated MGM-140 ATACMS. Its technical characteristics include:
- Maximum distance: 500 km (relative to the distance up to 300 km for ATACMS);
- Increased accuracy with the updated routing system;
Targets: command posts, air defense systems, depots, airfields, radar stations, and other highly protected objects.
Serial production of the PrSM missile family began in July 2023.
