Russian TV channels broadcast suspended in Kazakhstan

With the beginning of spring, changes in the television broadcasting sector are being observed in Kazakhstan. "Alma TV", one of the country's largest pay-TV operators, has suspended the broadcast of certain foreign TV channels for its subscribers. This situation is causing complaints and questions from many viewers.

According to the Orda.kz publication, starting from February 28, 2026, the company has stopped broadcasting a number of popular Russian channels. Among them are channels such as "Perviy kanal. Vsemirnaya set", "Muzika pervogo", "Pobeda", and "Telekafe". Company representatives stated that the main reason is the expiration of the temporary permit granted by the rights holders.

Currently, the management of "Alma TV" is negotiating the renewal of partnership agreements. The company stated that it is awaiting responses and new permits from the representatives of foreign TV channels. However, the situation is not limited to just one operator. The publication notes that major TV channels such as "Perviy kanal" and "NTV" have also disappeared from the airwaves of other operators.

Experts assess this situation as complications related to content rights and licensing issues. It remains unknown when viewers will be able to watch their favorite programs again.
