Volkswagen cars to be produced in Uzbekistan again

Uzbekistan’s leading automotive company — Alyans Auto, part of "Uzavtosanoat", and Germany’s famous Volkswagen Group signed a new cooperation agreement. Based on this agreement, local production of Volkswagen brand vehicles will be launched in our country.

Production will begin in early 2026
According to the plan, assembly of Volkswagen vehicles will begin in early 2026. The project will be implemented step by step. At the initial stage, production will be organized via SKD (Semi Knocked Down) — assembly from ready-made components. In the next stage, it will move to CKD (Completely Knocked Down) — full assembly with a high degree of localization.

According to "Uzavtosanoat", this process includes technical and economic preparation, including the selection of models suitable for the Uzbek market.

Which models will be produced is not yet known
Currently, it is not specified which Volkswagen models will be locally produced. "Uzavtosanoat" stated that detailed information on this will be provided later. However, observers speculate that the process may include models like the Volkswagen Polo, Passat, Tiguan, or T-Cross.
