Uzbeks spent more than a billion soums on Labubu

Uzbek consumers are showing increasing interest in modern and trending products, especially those available on online marketplaces. In particular, Labubu toys have become a true sensation, with a huge wave of popularity in a short time. Today, every shopper can easily and conveniently purchase the most sought-after toys thanks to the rapid growth of digital retail platforms.

According to data provided to UZ24 by Uzum Market, slimes, squishies, and especially Labubu toys have recently become some of the top-selling products on the market. Labubu first appeared on the platform in May and quickly rose to become one of the most in-demand and best-selling toys.

In less than two months, Uzbek buyers spent over $110,000—about 1,387,000,000 soums—on Labubu toys. This impressive number highlights the massive interest in these trendy items. While internationally Labubu toys are sold for between $22 and $900, on local marketplaces they can be found starting from just 45,000 soums.

Labubu is also surging in popularity in Russia, where buyers spent 1.5 billion rubles and turnover increased by 1190% in just two months. Reports indicate that, on average, every tenth person in the country has bought a Labubu toy.

Currently, over 700 unique Labubu SKUs are available on Uzbek marketplaces, with delivery to 480 towns and villages in just one day. Most purchases are being made in major cities like Tashkent, Samarkand, Fergana, Bukhara, and Navoi.

The marketplace infrastructure now allows people to get the products they need quickly and conveniently, make easy payments, contact sellers, or return items if necessary. Marketplaces have become the main platform not only for shoppers but also for sellers to introduce new products to the market.
