Japan’s Fast Retailing Co. (Uniqlo brand) and Spain’s Inditex (ZARA brand) may resume operations in Russia, TASS reports.
On August 31, 2025, Fast Retailing Co. filed an application with Rospatent to register 10 trademarks related to Uniqlo. These include GU, Fast Retailing, Uniqlo, and the “Юникло” logo. The company currently holds 27 trademarks in Russia, two of which will expire on October 14, 2025.
Inditex has also begun the process of re-registering the trademark for ZARA and has presented an updated logo.
It should be recalled that in March 2022, Uniqlo and ZARA suspended their activities in Russia. In October of the same year, Inditex announced the sale of its business to the Arab retailer Daher Group.
Experts believe that the filing of applications may indicate the possible return of these brands to the Russian market, although their actual resumption of operations has not yet been officially confirmed.
