As of 7:00 PM on October 22nd, solar and wind power plants in Uzbekistan have generated 9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity since the beginning of the year.
According to the Ministry of Energy, 12 solar photovoltaic and 5 wind power plants with a total capacity of 4,682 megawatts are currently operating in the country. This means saving 2 billion 730 million cubic meters of natural gas from "green" sources and preventing the release of 4 million tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
From the beginning of this year to October 22, the volume of energy generated by all hydro, wind, and solar power plants amounted to 14.52 billion kWh. This means that "green energy" accounts for 23% of the country's total electricity generation. This volume is equivalent to the 10-month needs of 7.5 million households or the annual needs of 6 million households.
