Illegal tobacco worth 12 billion soums uncovered in Tashkent
A major illegal trade in tobacco products was uncovered in Tashkent. During an operation conducted by the city department of the General Prosecutor's Office, it was discovered that electronic and traditional tobacco products were being sold without authorization in sales points belonging to “B.S” LLC.

During the inspections, a total of 144,567 units of products valued at nearly 12 billion soums were seized as material evidence. These included 56,225 electronic cigarettes, 25,714 units of special liquid, 10,668 smoking devices, and 3,800 hookah accessory parts.

Based on additional information, an illegal production facility was discovered in the Haydarobod neighborhood of the Qibray district. It was revealed that three individuals were manufacturing hazardous electronic tobacco products under unsafe conditions.

Products worth approximately 500 million soums were confiscated from the facility, including 2,175 units of liquid, large volumes of glycerin and glycol acid, hundreds of tobacco labels, scales, measuring containers, flavorings, and packaging equipment.

A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 179 (fraudulent entrepreneurship) and 186-1 (illegal production of tobacco products) of the Criminal Code. Investigative procedures are currently underway.
