The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan issued a serious warning to its citizens in Russia. It turned out that in recent months, there has been a sharp increase in the activity of groups and channels offering to "prepare documents" through Telegram. This increases the number of offenses related to forged documents among Uzbek compatriots in Russia.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consular offices in several Russian cities officially recorded instances of the submission of forged documents. In particular, in Kazan, a citizen who forged a "Return Certificate" was exposed during the process of issuing a flight ticket.
It was later revealed that he received this document through people who "offered help" via Telegram. Following the incident, the Consulate General reported the incident to Russian law enforcement agencies, and a criminal case was initiated under Article 322 (illegal border crossing) and Article 327 (preparation or sale of forged documents, stamps, or forms) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Also, in another case, it became known that citizen O.B.B. issued a birth certificate for his child based on a fake marriage certificate with another person. In both cases, consular offices took prompt measures.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement following these incidents. It was firmly emphasized that all compatriots should process documents only through the authorized bodies of Uzbekistan. It was noted that announcements about "preparing documents" on Telegram or other social networks can often be fraudulent schemes.
At the same time, it was noted that the preparation, sale, or use of forged documents is a crime, and such acts are punishable not only in Uzbekistan but also in Russia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised compatriots to immediately contact the nearest embassy or consulate if they encounter such suspicious situations. According to the Ministry, such incidents are currently caused by a lack of legal literacy among citizens and a tendency to believe false information on social networks.
Therefore, official agencies urge all citizens to contact the relevant consular office at the slightest suspicion and be vigilant against fraud related to forged documents.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that such vigilance ensures not only the legal interests of citizens but also their personal safety.
