Former head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Timur Kapadze, recently gave a big interview to the National News Agency of Uzbekistan. During the conversation, he openly spoke about his decision to leave his position with the national team, his plans for the future, and the time spent with the team, UzA reports.
At the beginning of the conversation, Kapadze expressed gratitude to the management:
"I am very grateful to the management for trusting me and offering me this position. During this time, I gave my all to justify the trust of both experts and fans. "Most importantly, we managed to qualify for the World Cup - this is a great honor for me," he said.
According to the coach, after the appointment of the new head coach, he agreed to stay with the team as an assistant for a short time, but then decided to go his own way:
"I told the management: if a new coach comes, I will help him adapt for two training camps, and then I will continue my work. They also supported this idea."
Timur Kapadze is currently considering several proposals:
"Currently, I have good options. "I haven't made a decision yet, but wherever I am, I will continue to work on myself," he said confidently.
About the World Cup and the relationship with Cannavaro

"Of course, every coach dreams of working at the World Cup. I could have been at the same headquarters as Fabio Cannavaro, but after much thought, I decided not to stay. Even if I stayed, she would feel uncomfortable too. Every coach has their own style, thoughts, and ideas. I have the same."

"I still had the opportunity to stay with the national team, but I have my own ideas. "I intend to gain new experience and increase my knowledge," he said.

Kapadze recalled that he had achieved great results in 10 months with the national team:
"We worked not only with the national team, but also with the Olympic team for 4 years. As a result, we qualified for both the World Championship and the Olympics. This is already a great victory. We were honored before the fans and the management," he said proudly.
