Mohidil Oktamjonova becomes world champion among girls

The XV World Taekwondo WT Youth Championships, held in our capital, concluded with high-level final bouts and a solemn closing ceremony. This prestigious sporting event was attended by distinguished figures such as World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choi, Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Otabek Umarov, NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov, and NOC Deputy Chairman and President of the Uzbekistan Taekwondo WT Association Sherzod Tashmatov.
One of the brightest stars of the competition was Mohidil Oktamjonova, who competed in the -63 kg weight category. She confidently defeated all her opponents to secure the gold medal, proving her unrivaled skill in practice.
This result is regarded as a truly historic achievement for Uzbek sports. Until now, Uzbek girls had not won a gold medal at the World Taekwondo WT Youth Championships. Now, Mohidil Oktamjonova has not only become a champion but has also made history as the first girl from our country to become a world youth champion.
At the same time, other representatives of our team performed honorably and achieved high results. Specifically, Asadbek Samandarov and Yosinbek Odilov won gold medals, while Ayubkhon Nabiyev and Alisher Pak secured silver medals. Shohjahon Kholmurodov was awarded a bronze medal.
As a result, the Uzbekistan youth national team concluded the competition with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal, recording one of the highest indicators in its history.
Notably, the next world championship in 2028 will take place in Lima. Thus, new challenges and opportunities still lie ahead for our youth.
In short, this victory is a great pride not only for the athletes but for the entire country. Most importantly, this is just the start, as the potential of this generation is very high.
